Some, chart their progress by writing down plans, and lists, following them, and checking them off, as they proceed. Others prefer to let life give them signposts, to evaluate how they are progressing. I recommend both processes. In the initial stage of making a change, it is often helpful to get your thoughts, and ideas down on paper. This helps to get your plan firmly fixed in your mind.
It is also helpful as the first steps are taken to check them off as being accomplished. This provides encouragement and adds to your feeling of confidence in the process, and in yourself. There will come a time in the process when you recognize the signposts and can evaluate and re-evaluate your progress in a more instantaneous way, and this will, also at that stage, give you encouragement and add to your confidence.
