Birthdate: April 8, 1910 - January 25, 1981
Tuesday Lobang Rampa is a bit of an enigma. He claimed to be a Tibetan lama who spent the second half of his life in the body of a British man, Cyril Henry Hoskin. In The Third Eye, he tells about his Tibetan life and in The Rampa Story he tells of his transmigration in Hoskin. |
When the Dalai Lama was questioned in 1972 about the authenticity of Lobsang Rampa's books his official reply was, " I wish to inform you that we do not place credence in the books written by the so-called Dr. T. Lobsang Rampa. His works are highly imaginative and fictional in nature." The Dalai Lama had previously admitted that although the books were fictitious, they had created good publicity for Tibet."
Whether you choose to read his books as fact or fiction, they are compelling.
