Birthdate: October 12, 1875 - December 1, 1947 Aleister Crowley, born Edward Alexander Crowley, may not be to eveyone’s taste. In Victorian England he was considered bizarre by the press. He was an occultist, a poet, a novelist, and a magician who belonged to two occult organizations, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and the Ordo Templi Orientis, and later founded his own. He was also a bi-sexual and a drug addict. |
He is best known for his book, The Book of Law, which was dictated to him on three consecutive days in Egypt by a disembodied voice belonging to a being called Aiwass.
